A truly Urban Spa ce Man!

Was at a funeral today of a dear neighbour today, and the Cactus was played, never knew she liked Jake. Saw him perform luckily in Melksham Wilts in the day. What a wonderful witty clever guy he was. It prompted me to have a listen to some of my old favourites, how anyone could possibly be offended by his work is beyond me, but we live in strange times with some very strange people. A genius sorely missed.

With The Innes Book of records I always feel he realised the art of the song video illustrating the song years ahead of the MTV thing, all languishing unappreciated in the BBC vaults after the one-and-ony broadcast of the series at the time...

Why wasn't this a single? Why isn't The Innes Book Of Records out on DVD? Best comedy/music series ever made...

I still refuse to believe that Vivian Stanshall is the end result of human evolution, say what you will.

The cheek of having the Oasis "Whatever" as the intro and the outro after suing Noel Gallagher for stealing that song from him is just ironic and genius at the same time, he even uses the lyrics "I'm freeeeeee to be whatever I...." I think Noel was busy getting rich and famous at the time but he could have done something legally about that

Neil Innes, one of the most totally together, got-it-sorted celebrities of all time. And this song is worth a thousand "Feed the World"'s.

Can remember singing along to this when he did a show at Windsor theatre back in the 1980's fun time.

Oddly enough, this is best resolution of the video that I've ever seen.
